The 24-year-old Italian secured his spot in the quarterfinals of the Madrid Masters after defeating world No. 23 Cameron Norrie of Great Britain 6-2, 7-5 in the fourth round. According to Opta, since the Masters series was introduced in 1990, only Federer and Djokovic have recorded 25 or more straight victories at this elite level. In the current season, Sinner has already claimed three Masters titles: Indian Wells, Miami, and Monte Carlo.

Sinner’s next opponent will be either Czech qualifier Vit Kopriva or Spain’s Rafael Jodar. The Madrid tournament, featuring a prize pool of €8.235 million, is scheduled to conclude on May 3.
