**Gordon Could Be Hot Topic at Bayern Today** (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
A major meeting is scheduled at Säbener Straße today, where Bayern Munich will outline their summer plans and discuss the future of several executives. One of the key names under consideration is Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon, who could be an ideal fit for the Bavarians but carries a hefty price tag.
✅ It is TRUE: Bayern have offered Anthony Gordon a five-year contract, pending an agreement on a transfer fee with Newcastle. In Germany, contracts beyond five years are not permitted (unlike in the Premier League). Bayern Munich know they will need to pay a significant transfer fee for Gordon, so spreading it over a long-term deal makes sense. This offer also aims to secure the Englishman’s services for the foreseeable future.
Talks with the player have taken place, as exclusively revealed on CF Bayern Insider. The agent from England has already visited Munich, and Gordon also has a German agent, Gordon Stipic-Wipfler. All eyes are on Monday, when the supervisory board meets to discuss plans. Max Eberl will present his summer strategy, and I hear they want to go all-in for an offensive player, with Anthony Gordon at the top of their wishlist. However, the transfer fee remains a stumbling block. At around £80m, that is a substantial sum for Bayern Munich.
A few weeks ago, I would have said a deal of this magnitude was impossible. Now, the supervisory board appears to be swayed by the clear need for another forward. PSG had Bradley Barcola on the bench, while Bayern lacked similar quality depth. Lennart Karl is still recovering from injury and is a young talent. Nicolas Jackson does not have the quality Bayern seek (and they won’t buy him). So, they need one more attacking reinforcement, and that should be Anthony Gordon.
The Gordon situation will be fascinating to follow. Several clubs are interested, and he will command a big, but not unaffordable, transfer fee. Bayern Munich seems determined, but they also have a price ceiling they are unlikely to exceed. Let the games begin!
**Querfeld on the Move?** (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
Impressive Union Berlin center-back Leopold Querfeld could be on the move this summer.
🚨👀 Leopold #Querfeld is one to watch for the upcoming summer transfer window. The 22-year-old centre-back has a release clause below his market value, with one year left on his contract at Union Berlin. Enquiries have come from the Bundesliga, Premier League, France, and Italy. @SkySportDE 🇦🇹
Querfeld has enjoyed a strong season in the Bundesliga and could be an attractive target for several clubs this summer.
**Neuer Talks Are Heating Up** (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Manuel Neuer’s contract talks with Bayern Munich are reportedly intensifying, as it becomes increasingly likely that the veteran goalkeeper will return for one more season.
✅ It is TRUE: Manuel Neuer is actively in discussions with Bayern over a one-year extension. His agent has already been at Säbener Straße for negotiations, and sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed this. Positive signals from the club indicate that Neuer is likely to sign a new contract. I met him after the match, but he was not in the right mood to discuss his contract at that time.
